No better time than now to start this blog. Intros are always the most awkward thing in my opinion… but here we are. So consider this a really rough “hello” while I spruce up The Hungry Wanderlust and organize what I’ve been generically calling my Southeast Asia trip. Long story short, my cousin is getting married in early February in the Philippines, and if I’m going to spend the money to get that far, might as well start burning that sweet sweet PTO by traveling to:

  • The Philippines
  • Taiwan
  • Indonesia
  • Japan (12 hours so debatable if that counts)

I’m pretty excited. The Philippines for the wedding, Taiwan with a good friend and my parents tagging along (they’re fun too!), and the rest on my own because you miss out on so much if you’re always waiting around for others to join in. Honestly Taiwan was going to be solo too until my friend got her passport and some deus ex machina level holiday money. Then my parents came around once they saw what was lined up. I really owe the Taiwan portion of my trip to friends that I visited South Korea last year; after their TEFL job they toured Asia before coming back to the US and their experiences in Taiwan put it on the map for me.

So, pardon the dust, welcome again, and stay tuned for more!

[Would it be too corny to say something like “Stay Hungry!” at the end of this? Semi-serious question.]
